Officer Bruning Injured in Accident

**Update 8/11/2021***
ON 8/5/2021 Officer Bruning got to return home to his wife and children. They could not be more excited to have him with them again. Life looks a little different right now as he continues his rehab and therapeutic services.

****UPDATE 7/24/21******

Taylor has been moved to a local rehab facility and is fully awake!! It is anticipated that he will be there for roughly a month before being able to go home to continue outpatient therapy. He is working on bearing weight, bending knees, and transferring. They do believe that he will fully heal and be able to return to his work in law enforcement in time. Continue to pray for this family and donate when you can!

****UPDATE*****

Officer Bruning remains in critical condition due to the vast extent of injuries. At this time, it is not considered to be life threatening unless he was to develop an infection. He had a delay in surgeries due to his white blood cell count dropping and he was unstable for a while but doctors have been able to proceed since. To sum up injuries, you can imagine nearly every bone in his lower body is broken with a large portion having compound fractures. He remains sedated to allow his body time to rest while he is on the ventilator. His most recent surgery was to repair his right femur and hip but he still needs the same for his left femur and left knee as well as others. Emily, his wife, remains at home with the children to give them the most support that she can. Not knowing how long the surgeries will take, when he will be able to be taken off of the ventilator, or what recovery looks like we can only hope to continue to raise funds for the family to be prepared. Emily will need to be able to focus on Officer Bruning when he is able to return home and assist in his recovery as well as his daily functions. The love and support that has been shown has truly been remarkable and the family cannot say thank you enough.

Hello everyone, I have been given permission by the family to create a GoFundMe for Officer Bruning. Officer Bruning was responding to a call in his police cruiser on the night of 6/23/2021 when the vehicle lost control and collided with another. In the vehicle was also Officer Luke Rouheslang as the passenger. Following the accident Officer Rouheslang was transported to a local emergency room and treated for a broken ankle. I am thankful to report that he is now home resting. Officer Bruning was flown from the scene to Joplin and then to Springfield in critical condition. Officer Bruning remains in critical condition as of the afternoon of 6/24/21. At this time, no further information has been released but I would like to start raising funds. Officer Bruning is still a police officer in training and was just beginning his career in law enforcement. At home, he has a wife, a newborn who is 1 week old, and 3 other children. It is unknown how long he is expected to be in the hospital. I will continue to update as information becomes available to me. ALL proceeds will go directly to the family.
