Debutante Kennedy Elizabeth Johnson

My name is Kennedy E. Johnson. I have been selected to participate in the 2022 Debutante Cotillion sponsored by the Marietta-Roswell Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority which will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta. The Cotillion, a tradition since 1992, is the culminating event of an eleven-month youth development program which raises scholarship funds for young women pursuing post-secondary education.

 

The Debutante experience is designed to be a rite of passage that prepares young ladies for a successful transition from high school into the world. I have been selected as 1 of 31 dynamic young ladies throughout metropolitan Atlanta who have demonstrated academic excellence and community involvement. During the program, we will engage in cultural and educational enrichment, public service, and social activities.

 

Encouraging young women to achieve excellence through higher education is a primary focus of the Marietta- Roswell Alumnae Chapter. To date, they have awarded scholarship awards totaling more than $500,000. The Debutante Cotillion is their signature scholarship event. I hope you will consider a donation to support me and the 2022 Debutante Cotillion.

 

At the heart of this effort is a scholarship program that will help support my post-secondary education desire to attend Florida A&M University. The Cotillion proceeds not only touch the Debutantes' lives but also provide scholarships that enhance the educational experiences of many young people and fund numerous local service programs in our community. I am writing to ask you to support my experience, journey, and fundraising goal of $10,000 and hope that I can count on your support in this celebration of youth and womanhood.
