Hi There! My name's Louis Ruben, and I released my debut EP, 'Simply Energy' in March 2020 to a fantastic response, with my song 'About Time' being played on BBC Radio Bristol, and all 4 songs on the EP being featured on Spotify playlists, and being played on other local radio stations. However, as an independent recording artist and singer-songwriter, I have big ambitions! - and i'm always looking ahead to the next release and for ways to grow my audience- so I need your help! The rise in popularity of streaming services has meant that sales of physical and digital music have been on a steady decline for a while now, and this has meant that independent singer-songwriters like myself now have to largely rely on crowdfunding and the kind donations of loved ones, friends and strangers, in order to be able to complete essential tasks such as the booking of studio time and session musicians, mixing & mastering, pressing of CDs/Vinyl and other merchandise, promoting & marketing, funding of professional music video shoots, and investment in radio plugging campaigns (just to name a few!). It's been my dream from an early age to be a professional recording artist & singer-songwriter - and I have a distinctive memory of listening to the voice of a young Michael Jackson blasting through the speakers in the back of my Dad's car, singing with his brothers on the Jackson 5's Greatest Hits CD, and yearning to be able to make other people feel the same way that this beautiful music made me feel at the time, and to bring as many people as possible the same feelings of comfort, excitement and inspiration that flowed through me whenever I listened to the majestic, effortless melodies and harmonies coming through those car speakers!
