Debra Schilling's Comfort Fund
Donation protected
On June 8th, Debra was diagnosed with stage IV unresectable pancreatic cancer following the detection of metastatic tumors in her peritoneum the previous month. She has started chemo but continues to struggle with weight loss and vomiting.
Pancreatic cancer is considered an incurable illness. Because of this, treatment and palliative care for Debra are focused on prolonging her life and improving her quality of life.
Debra takes great comfort in the ritual of coffee. It is the only beverage she can consistently hold down. She is in need of new clothing and headscarves due to the physical changes resulting from her illness and treatment. Debra is interested in exploring meditation to help her feel present in each day, now that time is more precious than ever.
Money donated to this fund will first be applied to medical fees not covered by our insurance. Any other funds raised will go toward purchasing coffee, headscarves/clothes, and mindfulness classes/subscriptions, all in the interest of providing more comfort to Debra on her challenging journey.
