Help Debra & Her Boys Rebuild After Tragic Fire

Hi everyone,

My name is Shane, and I’m reaching out today on behalf of my dear friend Debra Treadwell and her two boys, Zac and Maverick, who have recently experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Late one night, a devastating electrical fire broke out in their home, starting in the clothes dryer. They woke up to the sound of the fire alarm, and within moments, the entire interior of their house was engulfed in flames.

Thanks to quick thinking and sheer luck, they all managed to escape safely, but they lost everything in the fire—clothes, bedding, furniture, kitchen appliances, and precious personal belongings. Maverick’s toys and recent birthday gifts were also destroyed, and unfortunately, if it wasn’t burned or water-damaged, it was condemned due to asbestos contamination.

Debra, a single mother who has been working tirelessly to make ends meet, had recently moved to Tasmania in search of a fresh start for herself and her boys. Unfortunately, there was no contents insurance for the rental property, leaving them with no financial safety net to replace what was lost.

They’ve managed to secure a new rental, but it’s empty. They’re currently sleeping on air mattresses with just a couple of sets of clothes to their names. They have nothing but the barest of essentials, and rebuilding their lives is a daunting task.

This is where we come in. I’m asking for any support you can give—whether it’s a few dollars or spreading the word about this campaign—to help get Debra and her boys back on their feet. The funds will go directly toward replacing basic necessities like clothing, beds, kitchen supplies, and other essentials they need to start over.
