Debra Threlkeld--Keep on Rolling
Donation protected
Four years ago Debra's health concerns caused her to retire from the job she loved-teaching gifted children. She could still drive and fully care for herself in her home. However, the side effects of a debilitating illness-- lipo-lymphedema* (see footnote and picture below) as well as a twisted foot, have taken its toll on her body. In Debra's words, "I have gone from having an active life to living a life within four walls". Although Debra's physical world has shrunk, her heart and mind remain open, vibrant and inspired to be of services to others.
Now, not only is Debra home bound, but chair-bound. Just standing up to walk to the restroom is extremely painful. She has to rely on her friends and health professionals to keep her going. Debra desperately needs a specially-equipped wheelchair and used van to provide her the mobility needed to be able to care for herself. At the end of the day, Debra says, "for all those things that I cannot control, all those things I don’t understand, all those things I fear, I have to say, “I’m in your hands, oh God”. A verse that inspires her is Psalm 73:26 --“My heart and my flesh fail me, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Debra has allowed those who love her and are concerned for her to start this Go Fund Me. Please consider donating to help her cover medical expenses. If you could support this GoFundMe by making a donation and/or sharing it with your network, we would greatly appreciate it. She covets your prayers, and is deeply humbled and grateful for any contribution.

*Lymphedema breaks down the lymph system, which can cause extreme swelling, and in Debra's case it is from her waist down, especially in her legs. She will have to wear compression garments for the rest of my her (see picture).
