Debra Nicole Nelson

On Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at around 8:00 am my sister Debra (Nelson) was a passenger in a tragic car accident. Her fight began at Desert Regional Medical Center. Upon arrival, her heart stopped in the emergency room. The nurses and doctors were able to resuscitate her. Soon after she was moved to the Intensive Care Unit, where she was being monitored and treated. The doctors informed us that her situation was very critical. She was suffering major brain injuries, every bone in her upper body was broken, she had multiple head fractures, and she needed pelvic surgery. Though medically the doctors had no hope or good news for us, we placed our hope in Jesus! We prayed fervently for a miracle, we believe the full counsel of the Bible, we believe the promises God has given. We believe the miracles God performed in the Old Testament and the New.  From day one our family our friends and our pastor gave an offering of worship and praise. We placed her life in God's hands. We would not receive the doctors' prognosis because we do not place our faith in man but in God. We never lost doubt or faith. Our prayer was that we would lean not on our own understanding but for His will to be done. We never gave up, we gave it to God. The amount of love, comfort, and prayer that we received from friends, family, and those who never even met my sister was abundant. On the morning of Friday, March 12, 2021, at 9:00 am the Lord fulfilled his purpose and my sister's mission was complete. Looking back at day one our prayers were answered and the miracle did occur. God brought her to Desert Regional hospital for us to pray over her, comfort her, and be ensured of her salvation. My sister now has a similar story as Jesus himself on the third day he rose and on the third day of my sister's fight she was with the Lord. Any support is appreciated and received with love.
