Debra and Derek Peterson Medical Bills

Debra Peterson's husband, Derek, was caught in the cross-fire of an alternation at an Austin Connivence store a few weeks ago. He was shot several times and sustained very serious injuries and is about to undergo an eighth surgery. Debra informs me that medical bills are at about $425,000.00. She has applied for compensation from the AG's crime victims fund, but even if awarded, the maximum is $50,000.00. I'm organizing this to see if the ACC community can help by doubling that. Debra had been the Adminsitrative Assistant for the Government Department for many decades, during which time she has devotedly served our college community and continues to do so as an hourly assistant for the Government department.
