I know it’s overwhelming to see so many gofundme requests for help, but, please consider. She means the world to us.
Good morning. I have an unusual ask of my friends and family today. Deb is my coworker and dear friend. She has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of head and neck cancer. It has been staged 3-4, with lymph node involvement. To make matters much more difficult, a second cancer was found in her body recently that doesn’t appear to be related. To save her life, Deb will undergo a 10+hour surgery at UC Davis to remove the tumor, part of the palette, and nearly all of the teeth on her left side. During this same surgery, they will make an incision from her chin to collarbone and remove her lymph nodes. finally, they will harvest bone grafts from her tibia to rebuild her jaw. She will have a feeding tube for a long while, as she will not be able to eat. All of this will need to heal before she can have traditional cancer treatment. They are estimating at least 6 weeks before they begin daily radiation.
Deb needs help. She lost both of her parents to cancer and has always been the glue that holds the family together. She spent her life’s savings to get her mom treatment, leaving her completely depleted. Deb has always been a rock for everyone around her. Now, I’m praying that I can rally as many as possible to lift her up and help her financially through the next year of her life. A very modest goal was set for her go fund me. Things are very tight right now for a lot of people, but I thought that if each of my friends could donate even $5, it would have a huge impact on her future. I completely understand that some aren’t able to help, but could most of you try? Thank you so much for hearing us out. If you’re unable to help reach our goal, please share on any media that you’re able.
Thank you again, truly
