Donation protected
Hello Everyone,

David Rogers here (Debbie's son). As most of you know from the Facebook Post I sent with my mom's FB account, she is at the end of her life.

**UPDATE: As of 2:32am, Saturday, December 1, 2018. My mom (Deborah Rogers) passed away. We have a 72-hour window from when she passed to have her transferred to a Mortuary.

Mom's Current Health

For the past 5 months she has been in a coma. On Monday, 11/26/18,  the hospital called me to let me know about her taking a turn for the worse and said that I may want to come down to see her. Her blood pressure has dropped very low (at the time of writing this it was 62/27). They have put her on multiple medications to increase her BP. However, they have not been able to get it to a safe or normal range.

One of the side effects of these medications is they decrease circulation. As a result, she has developed multiple wounds over her body and face, and some of them have started to turn into dead tissue.

The hospital does not have an estimate of how long she will last. But I did have a meeting with them a couple days before her BP dropped so low, and they were already recommending to put her into "Comfort Care". She had been in ICU for a couple months already and had started declining even further in health.

If you aren't familiar with my mom's health situation, I will recap the past 5 months at the bottom of the page.

What We Need

Unfortunately, my mom did not have any life insurance or anything set aside for this moment. Her social security was barely enough to cover rent and bills. My family and I are maxed out on cards and payments, plus do not have anything in savings. So we are reaching out to everyone who knows her for help.

**Updated: Our goal for this campaign is $11,000. As of right now, it looks like we have narrowed our options down to a couple places. We are currently looking at approximately $4,300 for the Mortuary and $5,800 for the Cemetary, plus $1,000 for the Marker (which comes to just over$11,000).

Now we know at this time of the year, there isn't much extra cash. Thanksgiving just passed and Christmas is in a few weeks. So we are asking for anything you can spare. If everyone who knows my mom, or is friends with her on FB could just help with $20, we can raise everything we would need to lay her to rest.

However, I know that everyone will not have even $20 to spare. So I am asking anyone who can help with more to please donate as much as you can spare.

Now time is of the essence. We have about a 72-hour window to have her transferred to a Mortuary. But I need to make sure we can count on your support? Even if it is just a few dollars. Please Click the Donate Button on this page and Pledge Your Support to help lay Deborah Michelle Rogers to rest.

Thank you again for your support,

David Rogers

Here is the additional information about my mom's health over the past 5 months.

Timeline of Debbie's Health

June 2018: She went to Beverly Hospital in Montebello for gangrene on her toes.

June 28: She had an amputation of her toes.

June 29: Day after the surgery, she went into Cardiac Arrest. It took 10+ minutes for them to revive her. Once they revived her she was unresponsive and they did cryotherapy to try to help her recover.

July 2: They finished cryotherapy, but she was still in a coma.

Mid-July: After a couple weeks in ICU they determined that she was in a coma, but stable and they moved her to a regular hospital room.

During this time she showed possible signs of recovery. At times she would respond to noises (looking in a direction, and fixing her eyes in that location). The nurses were optimistic about her recovering. She did not respond to commands though.

Around Aug 20: She was taken off the ventilator and was breathing on her own.

Aug 30: She was released to a convalescent home that would be able to care for her.

Sept 6: The convalescent home sent her back to the hospital because of shallow breathing, but was assigned a regular hospital room because her breathing turned out to be fine.

Sept 21: Her blood pressure dropped for unknown reasons and was sent to ICU.

Sept till now: She has been in ICU. They determined that she got a bacterial infection and that is what caused the BP drop. After a couple months they still have not been able to get rid of the infection and she has been on BP medications ever since. Her signs of recovery have mostly gone away over this time.

**Updated: Dec 1, 2018: My mom passed away at 2:32am
