My name is Dawn and I have known Deborah and Bill O'Brien since I was a kid. I became their neighbor a little over 4 years ago and they are more family to me than just neighbors. They both have hearts of gold and would give the shirts off their backs for any one in need but right now, they are the ones in need.
Bill, Deb’s Husband of 35 years, is a retired Veteran. They both worked as mail carriers for the US Post Service for 15 years and decided to retire about 3 years ago. Shortly after retiring, Deb was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Being retired they are on a fixed monthly income which we all know, they are lucky to be able to afford their monthly bills.
Deb has been fighting this battle for a long 2 1/2 years. She has bravely faced the Chemo treatments, radiation and maintenance Chemo and various other types of treatment. Recently, Deb made the difficult decision to stop treatments. She had met with her Doctors and decided it was time to make the end of life preparations. Deb is now on Hospice care and wants to live out the remaining days at home surrounded by her family.
Unfortunately, Deb does not have any life insurance. Bill should not have to worry about not being able to afford funeral expenses for his wife. He should be spending the time she has left knowing that at least the funeral costs and expenses will be covered.
I understand that things are tough for everyone right now with covid-19 going on. Please help me to help this wonderful couple by taking one small burden off of them during a very painful situation.
If you are able to donate, no amount is too small. If you are unable to donate you can still help by sharing this and get the word out. Thank you all for your help!
