Rest in peace mom..  11.15.53 - 3.12.22

Hello, I am Stephanie Kober. This is by far one of the hardest things I have ever had to write. By now, most of you know that our mother, Deborah Kober is in the final stages of life in the ICU. On February 17th, she found out that she was positive for Covid-19. She was admitted to the hospital on the 22nd with Covid Pneumonia. On Saturday evening, she was placed on life support and declining daily. Before going on the ventilator, she said she didn't want to struggle. She told me that it was ok because she'd be with God if she passed. She also told me not to forget to feed the birds :) We know she would not want to be kept alive by machines. My brothers, Robert and Brian, and I are planning to let her be in peace and go with God.

Our mother was a warrior for God. She did his work daily. Since being in the hospital, I have taken over 500 messages from people she has touched along the way. From many places, but some that come to mind.......Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, California, Louisana, Kentucky, Indiana, and Kenya, Africa. She spent 12 years in Nairobi, Kenya, Africa. She gave her life to God and made sure that every day lived was for him.

Now, We need to ask something that we do NOT do.....and that is asking for help. But, We need HELP. This was, of course, not in the plans for mom or anyone. She did not have life insurance or savings for anything like this.

She clearly stated that she did not want a funeral; she wanted to be cremated and have a small memorial with her children and their families. She made that very clear to us.....We need your help to make these final wishes for her come to a reality. We're asking for donations to help with the end-of-life costs, the memorial plans, assistance in travel for all of us to be with her and complete her wishes.

Where will your donations go: Directly to Stephanie, Robert, and Brian.
  • We will have her cremated and celebrate her life event with family this spring. We hope to do it the same day she gave her life to God, June 7th.
  • We hope to have memorials created for each of us and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
  • Help with expenses for Steph, Robert, Brian and spouses to remain in Indiana and be by her side. The boys travel from about 10 hours away, and I am 6 hours. We will need to have transportation and lodging.

We thank you for your love, support, thoughts and prayers during this terrible time for our family.

We appreciate you--- Steph, Robert, and Brian

****The cover picture was taken on Wednesday, March 2nd when she was admitted to the ICU. Although still very serious, she was able to smile and have a little fun with us! She called us blueberries and placed this as her Facebook cover photo almost instantly! She is a proud mamma!
