Deborah's Cancer Treatment Fund

Hello all! I'm working on raising money for my sweet momma. For those of you who don't know she retired from teaching a little over a year ago due to an incident that caused a physical injury. During the process of treating said injury, her doctor found a mass on her spine. Four weeks ago the mass was removed and sent off to pathology. Unfortunately, after multiple tests, it was confirmed to be cancer. Mom has been diagnosed with a grade 2 chondrosarcoma. It is a very rare form of bone cancer that only affects 600 people annually.

After much consideration, she has been approved to receive proton therapy. This type of therapy is a more direct form of radiation that will target this form of cancer. While this is a great opportunity, there comes a cost. As most of you know, insurance only takes care of so much. There will be an out-of-pocket cost and she will have to pay for treatment and it is going to be a struggle with limited income. On top of that, there are very few proton therapy centers in the country and therefore we will have to travel every day to and from treatment for up to 2 months.

I am creating this GoFundMe because I am only able to do so much for my sweet momma during this scary and uncertain time. If any of you would be able to give just a small amount so that she can have this time to focus solely on herself and overcoming this diagnosis, it would mean the world to all of us.
