Update on Monday, April 26, 2021:
Hi All - I just wanted to update you on Deborah's status, she has had a whirlwind of a week. Deborah traveled to MD Anderson last week and had her first of many appointments on Wednesday. Initially she was accepted to a trial where she would receive gamma knife radiation to her brain and then would have the largest brain tumor removed surgically. We went in to her appointment for radiation this past Friday and were told that she was no longer a candidate for the gamma knife radiation or surgery, as the cancer has spread to her brain fluid.
Today, Deborah received her first of 10 treatments of whole brain radiation. She is in very good spirits and will remain at MD Anderson for the radiation treatments. She is seeing a neuro-oncologist on Wednesday morning where we will learn more about her diagnosis and options for treatment. She has a long road in Houston in front of her and we are all so grateful for all of the support that you have already given her and we hope to get her back home in just a few weeks! MD Anderson has been amazing and they continue to blow everyone away with their efficiency and ability to fight to wretched cancer. Please consider donating here and keep Deborah, JC, Walker and her family in your prayers. #cancersucks

As you all know, Deborah Cox was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in January of 2020. She initially had a great response to chemo, but on April 6, 2021, she learned that the cancer has spread to her brain. Deborah is currently preparing to fight her brain cancer and it is going to be a long battle. She is still waiting for a treatment plan and will learn more about what all it entails later this week. She has been receiving great care at the Hederman Cancer Center in Jackson, but we will also be consulting MD Anderson and should have appointment date by this coming Monday.
Deborah has a great support system, but she is going to face a number of unplanned expenses from medication to travel. Please consider not bringing her a casserole and donating that money to help her as she fights this vicious cancer.
