Deborah (62) knew she could lose her 4 year fight with breast cancer and asked me (Chris) as a trusted friend to help her daughters through her death & funeral as all her other family lived out of town or state. Her wish was to be buried by her grandmother near her home town of Pineville, LA. She had a lumpectomy & radiation but cancer reoccurred. She had a mastectomy & chemotherapy but cancer reoccurred. She was fighting with chemotherapy again and had good quality of life and faith. She wanted to recover & return to work. But, she caught Covid-19 which caused kidney failure and her body, weakened by cancer and chemotherapy couldn't tolerate dialysis and she died. Deborah was born with only one kidney, Deaf and an eye disease that progressed to total blindness at age 40. She was friendly, happy, gregarious, had a positive attitude, loved God, was a valued employee for the past 12 years, a loving mother to Patricia & Amanda, and a proud grandmother of eight. She loved strawberries, fried shrimp, ham sandwiches, beef fajita tacos, cucumber with ranch dip and fresh squeezed lemon juice in her water. Because of limited funds, she will be cremated. Her daughters plans to divide her ashes into 3 urns. One for each and one to bury near the grave of the beloved grandmother who raised her. We are short $788 toward the memorial service and cremation. The other $1000 is for her daughters & grandchildren to travel from San Antonio, TX to Evergreen, LA to honor Deborah's last wishes and lay part of Deborah to rest with her cherished grandmother.
