DEBORAH ALCORN MEMORIAL FUND
Donation protected
On Saturday January 9, 2021, Deborah Alcorn left this physical world after battling liver disease and subsequent infections over the last year. She has been widowed since her husband John Alcorn died in 2017. She leaves behind her oldest son Joshua Peace, 43, and granddaughter Jordan Peace, 21.
Jordan is the daughter of Debbie's younger son Jeffrey Peace, who sadly also succumbed to liver disease from alcoholism in 2013 at the age of 34. After his passing, Debbie & John took over full-time care of Jordan. Tragically, John ended his own life on Mother's Day in 2017 after a lifelong battle with alcoholism. Debbie and Jordan have continued to live in the family home in Grass Valley since then, with Debbie working full-time to support them both.
After Debbie was hospitalized and diagnosed with liver disease in April 2020, Joshua left Southern California and moved in with her and Jordan to care for his mother while she recovered. In late July, Debbie was well enough to travel and came to Orange County to stay with her mother Elizabeth Warren while continuing her recovery. Jordan has been staying by herself at Debbie's home since then. Sadly it was while Debbie was visiting her family in Orange that she developed the bacterial infection in her spine that ultimately led to her death after 2 months in the hospital.
We are raising funds to cover final arrangements for Debbie and also to cover the rent at her home so that Jordan may continue living there for the time being. She has always been Debbie's #1 priority and these donations will keep her stable & avoid homelessness temporarily. All funds will be placed in an account and distributed as needed on Jordan's behalf by Joshua.
We thank you in advance for your help during this very difficult time.
