Most of us spend our lives accumulating personal items, one thing at a time - whether it be photos of your children growing up, furniture, clothing, or meaningful gifts passed down from family and friends. For many of us, this adds up to a lot of items. Now imagine this…
A majority of those things that you worked so hard for - for your entire life - are destroyed before your eyes. For my very good friend’s parents, this nightmare became a reality on Monday, 4/25, when they lost their home of 35 years to a devastating fire. Luckily, they were home and able to get out in time. His father did sustain a burn injury while evacuating the home and was transported to the hospital but is out and recovering now. They were able to rescue their two dogs and rabbit, but sadly their cat is still missing.
Now, it is time to rebuild their lives. While they are fortunate to have family to stay with short-term, they are beginning the recovery process of their home while looking for a longer-term place to live. Unfortunately, they do not have insurance on the house, which makes this process even more difficult than it already is. All donations will provide funds to assist with cleanup, relocation, and needed personal items.
