Debi Botos Album Recording

Donation protected
Ive gotten an incredible opportunity from a very nice lady, Paula Gardner, who came up to me after one of my gigs in Toronto and had told me she would love to donate some financial help toward recording my very first album. She has given me $2000 to kickstart my journey to recording and we discussed this idea of creating a gofundme campaign in the hopes of receiving help from my community toward this recording.

I have some AMAZING musicians from Europe in mind for this recording whom Ive spoken with about this idea and they would love to be apart of it. Ludovic Beier, Jeno Lisztes, Aurore Voilque and Mozes Rosenberg!

If granted this opportunity, I know we would record an amazing project with my original music fused and inspired by my Hungarian Gypsy Rumungro roots, sprinkled with Gypsy Jazz with a modern twist.

This music is very unique, one of a kind and truly special. No one in North America plays this music and I want to help introduce this beautiful traditional gypsy music to Canada and America with the help of my community and supporters!

To anyone that donates and supports us in this journey, WE LOVE YOU and thank you for your support!

Here is a little bit about me and my achievments so far, as well as some music to have a little taste of what it is I plan to record! ☺️❤️

From an early age, Debi Botos has cultivated an interest in Hungarian Gypsy music (where she was born). Now 27, as a self taught musician, Debi continues to explore and experiment with the sounds of the Legendary Django Reinhardt. Through gigging around the Toronto Circuit, playing festivals and concert halls in the US and Europe, and growing up in a very musical Botos Family, she has found a sound that is both contemporary and an homage to the Greats. Some of her past and upcoming achievements include teaching at Django In June camp and performing at the prestigious Academy Of Music Theatre in Northampton, MA. Teaching and performing at Django A GoGo and Town Hall in New York City. Performing at the Midwest Gypsy Swing Festival in Madison, WI. Performing at JazzFM91 discover women in jazz, Toronto & Markham TD jazz festival, UnionSummer TD Festival and DjangoFeszt Budapest. She has also collaborated with some of the contemporary giants of this genre which include Samson Schmitt, Ludovic Beier and Stephane Wrembel. Incorporating colourful and inventive sounds from her Hungarian Gypsy roots to the music of Django Reinhardt, she has written multiple compositions fusing both these styles and creates a very enjoyable atmosphere that feel electric, traditional yet modern and continues to amaze her audiences across the globe.
