This is not something I ever thought I'd have to make, but here I am. In the wake of my mom, Debby Millner's cancer diagnosis, and what is to follow, we are asking family and friends for help to cover medical expenses and any other expenses that occur along the way. My mom will be out of work for 6-8 weeks and will have little to no income during that time period. There is no back up income as my mom has been a widow since 2003 and raised me solely on her own. She has always worked 2 jobs to give me the best possible life.

We just went and visited the doctor and were told the treatment plan, and basically, many things are not known yet. Surgery is looking like late October early November.
We do know that this is what she has:

A neuroendocrine tumor may grow slowly or aggressively and spread to other parts of the body.
Many people do not develop symptoms, and the tumor is detected incidentally. When symptoms occur, they can vary based on the location of the tumor. In rare cases, skin flushing or fluctuating blood sugar levels may occur.
Treatment depends on the type of tumor. Some approaches may include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.

The doctor states it did not spread to the liver, which is a good sign. My mom’s tumor is located in the small intestine. We will not know more answers till they remove the mass and perform a biopsy. The goal is to remove the whole mass, but again, we will not know till after the surgery. If they remove the mass completely, there will be no need for chemo, but if they can't remove it all, chemo will be a lifelong treatment to keep it at bay, it sounds like.

Please, if you can help or even share, that is all we could ask for. We know everyone is struggling right now.
