My name is Jovana and I would like to share with you a story of my dear friend Debbie.

Debbie is well known and beloved by many in the Doberman and dog community in general. She is the kindest soul that will always be there to help out even when she is also struggling. She never says no to anyone who may need her. She loves her dogs dearly as well as the rest of her animals and they never want for anything as she’s often sacrificing having her own needs met so her animals never want for anything.

Unfortunately, life has been anything but kind to Debbie lately. In the past year her beloved life partner, Jared, who was in the National Guard and also a Medic in the Army and was deployed to NYC for 9/11 and took part in Operation Iraqi Freedom, passed unexpectedly from succumbing to his struggles and taking his life at the age of 46, leaving her all alone with no family to lean on. This then led to Debbie being on the brink of losing her home, and even having her vehicle repossessed. In August she lost 2 of her beloved pets, Nick and Jersey in the same day. Since then it seems life has been throwing her one curve ball after another.

Even though she was already beyond struggling, Debbie, being the kind woman she is, let her friends come and live with her because they needed a place to stay. To thank her, these people one day left while she was at work having stolen a bunch of Debbie’s possessions and owing her money. Once again, she was left all alone and she carried on as best as she could… That is until this month when more curve balls got sent her way…

This month alone Debbie had to put her beloved dog Bounce to sleep, had her HVAC die so now she has to carry wood upstairs so she can heat herself in the dead of winter. She had a bad rib injury which made daily tasks like carrying said wood next to impossible and made work difficult and then due to all of these things happening in her life, had a client complain that she “wasn’t cheerful enough” which caused her to lose her job today.

I think this goes without saying, but Debbie really needs our help! I am really hoping that our awesome dog community will rally and show Debbie that there are people in her life that care about her and will be there for her when the going gets though as right now she feels very defeated and all alone.

The donations will be put toward Debbie paying her bills while she recovers and looks for a new job, fixing her HVAC (for what she was quoted $12,000), helping her save her home and taking care of her animals.
