Hi, my name is Vicki Nordhagen, and I am raising funds for my sister, Debbie Salyers, who has lived in Ft Myers Beach, Florida, for the past 26 years. It's the only home her children have known. As most of you know, on Wednesday, September 28th, Hurricane Ian slammed into the Florida coast as a Cat 4 hurricane leaving devastation and destruction in its wake.

Debbie is a single mom of her two beautiful children, Annie and Sam (pictured above) and is one of the most selfless people I know. She is genuinely humble, kind, sweet and generous, always there to graciously help others. She is just a beautiful soul. Now it is time to turn the tables and do whatever I can to help her in this time of desperate need. It is SO SO difficult watching her go through this.

Ft Myers Beach is currently closed to all people, including residents, so she doesn't know the full extent of the damage to her home. However, an aerial flyover video by the US Coast Guard shows heavy destruction to the houses in her neighborhood, hers included. Many homes around her have been leveled, and we know the island was hit with a 10-12' storm surge, so I'm afraid the damage and losses are substantial. Her home is almost 50 years old. Thankfully she does have insurance. However, she will have a minimum $30,000 deductible. It could be more, so I am trying to raise enough money to cover that expense. We also know the insurance will not cover damage outside, i.e., driveway, deck, fence, etc. She will also be displaced for quite some time while they rebuild and will need to rent during that time. Debbie has been the sole provider for her family, being a small business entrepreneur in Fort Myers. With this hurricane, I'm afraid business will be very slow for quite some time. So again, I would like to be able to support her in any way possible. With all that said, they have lost so very much. However, we are incredibly thankful that by the grace of God, they are all safe.
