Debbie's Fight Against Cancer
Spende geschützt
My mom was 33 years old when she was first diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She fought through chemo, radiation, and a lumpectomy. She spent nights praying for strength to keep going while also working and being a mom.
In May of 2016 she called to tell me the cancer came back. My eyes instantly started to tear up knowing it wasn't fair. She didn't deserve to go through this hell again. She had just started at her new job and she couldn't take time off for surgery.
Even while undergoing chemo she still managed to work as much as possible including a second job on weekends when she was feeling up to it.
Finally, my mom is finishing up with the chemo and her surgery is scheduled for December 19th. The average recovery time for this surgery is a minimum of 8 weeks. During that time she will have no income but what small amount she has been able to save throughout the past few months.
My mom is the strongest woman I know, and is often too prideful to ask for help. She has dedicated her life to taking care of and providing for my sister and I. Now it is our turn to take care of her, but we need help.
The bills coming in during those 8 weeks are going to total up to around $5000. I'm not asking for any one person to move mountains but if we all carried a small rock it adds up to the same end result.
