I met Debbie 10 years ago in a bible study group and quickly learned that she was a woman that loved life, travel, God, and her family. She is quick to offer words of advise when needed, or just brighten up the room with her smile.
In 2012 Debbie made the decision to enter nursing school and successfully graduated in 2013. It was not an easy road but she persevered and never looked back with regret. She told me just a few days ago how much she loves being a nurse and how much she loves her job and caring for people. She has inspired many women at church to believe in themselves and to not be afraid to change and better themselves no matter where they are in life.
In June of this year, Debbie was diagnosed with terminal bile duct/liver cancer. Her doctors have given her approximately 9 more months. She was given some hope to extend her time after Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center approved her for a treatment allowing chemo to be delivered into her arteries directly to her liver.
However, Debbie has not been able to work since her diagnosis and her funds are running out.
Please help Debbie fight this battle while not having to worry about how to cover the cost of living expenses and her travel to Sloan to receive her treatment in New York. The cost of travel, hotel, food, tolls, etc are a hurdle that she should not have to worry about at this time.
Debbie knows that there is no treatment for her cancer, and that she has a tough road ahead. She is feeling the effect of the chemo, but she is willing to fight til the end to have as much time as possible with her family.
Please make this time a little easier for her.
