Debbie Needs Our Help Kicking Cancer’s Ass!
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
My best friend Debbie has been in a quiet battle with breast cancer. After a biopsy in July she was diagnosed with breast cancer in her left breast. She had a successful lumpectomy on September 1st and is currently having radiation treatment on that breast.
About two weeks ago Debbie was having pain in her right breast and unfortunately found another lump. We went in for a mammogram and an ultrasound of
that breast - the results were worrying enough that the technician and Debbie’s doctors decided to do a biopsy that same day. It came back positive for cancer and a second lumpectomy is needed.
As you can imagine this has been a strain both emotionally and physically for Debbie. Debbie is one of the most generous and kind people I know. She is more than a friend- she is my family.
I am hoping to get a little help from everyone who sees this. While Debbie had been able to stay afloat financially during the initial diagnosis and treatment, the second tumor represents additional challenges. Due to the nature of the tumor, treatment on her right breast cannot begin until she’s completed the treatment on her left, doubling the amount of time she will need to be out of work.
The sad reality of our healthcare system is that people undergoing medical treatment are often asked to take on so much on top of getting better. Healing from cancer is difficult already without adding additional financial stress.
Everyone who has met Debbie knows that she would give the shirt off her back in heartbeat to someone in need. My hope is that with this gofundme, we can return her years of generosity and giving in kind and help to relieve some of the stress. Even the smallest of donation will go a long way in allowing her to focus on getting better and not making ends meet.
Any size donation is appreciated and if money is tight this holiday season, you can help out just as much by sharing this on your social media pages. I know these last two years have been difficult for all of us as we braved a global pandemic. Together we have been able to rise up in the face of adversity and triumph over despair. As a group we can do so much more than we can individually and I hope that all of us can come together and help Debbie through this difficult time..
Thank you & Happy Holidays.
