If you have ever met my friend, Debbie McKinney, you just love her as soon as you meet her, and become her friend. She doesn't seem to be able to catch a break! She has already survived having a heart attack, heart surgery placing 5 stints & an artificial valve in her, thyroid cancer, still living with bone on bone in her knee (because she is a very high risk patient)
In 2019 she was once again diagnosed with lung cancer that they didn't know where it started from and was also in lymph nodes. It is about the worse kind of cancer you can get. She got one shot of chemo and radiation. She finished with some complications, and was just ready to start her year of Immunol therapy. She has know she had a aneurysm that her heart doctor was watching that it didn't get to big. After all of the cancer treatments where done, a scan showed that the aneurysm had gotten way to big for comfort. It had to come out right away, but it was a very big risk for her to have this surgery. We didn't know if she would make it out of surgery. She seems to always beat the odds. They are forever in her favor!! She went through surgery and started to recovery faster than anyone thought she would. Surprised her doctors and nurses! She has had a set back with a bleed that they just operated on. She has a long road of recovery ahead. That leads to a lot of doctor bills and a lot of medicine she will need. She is on disability and that is not a lot to live on.
Her family is also trying to have her home painted and upkeep done before she gets home. She can't do all that needs to be done to up keep things on her home. There are fascia boards that are rotted and need to be replace. We need to help her get a porch stoop that she can walk out on to. The step down for her is extremely painful because it is so big. The concrete is cracked, so we believe a wooden stoop and ramp would help her to be able to come and go much more easily and with less pain.
Besides the fund being used for medical, we would like to help her get her home to where she doesn't have to worry about the upkeep. We would buy some paint to repaint the house and shutters, replace fascia board and any thing on the garage that needs to be updated. Also, a bench or patio chair to help her be able to be outside when it is nice weather.
Anyone who would like to help us in this project with labor, paint, or a gift of money it would be so appreciated. Nothing is too small. We are trying to get her home done before she comes home from the hospital
Debbie has had a hard knock life and has smiled through it all. She is a light to those around her and she shares it with anyone and everyone! Thank you so much for your help. So many have been praying for her and we have seen miracles because of it.
