In loving memory: robot feeder for those with ALS
Donation protected
Debbie Matthews was taken from her loved ones on April 14, 2021, only 10 months after being diagnosed with ALS. In the last few months of her life, she relied on the Obi robotic self-feeder to help her eat. It let her remain independent and stay in assisted living rather than transfer to a nursing home. The Obi is very easy to use and greatly improved her quality of life, but it's very expensive. Deb was fortunate to be able to rent it; we (her family) would like to purchase it so we can loan it to others with ALS at no cost. Debbie was a tireless advocate for those with special needs and disabilities, and we would like to pay this forward in her memory.
