UPDATE- Debbie is doing better now. The brain drain has been removed and she is out of ICU and now in CCU.
While she still has a long way to go for the healing she is talking and eating again. So far not walking but that could be a strength issue from being in bed for two weeks. So slowly she is getting better and appears to be out of the danger stage.
Debbie and her family are so grateful and
overwhelmed with all the love, prayers, kindness and support from you all.
They feel truly blessed and pass on their gratitude for all that is being done.
Debbie is up for visitors now but just two at a time please. She is in the Foothills Hospital in the neurology ward on the 11th floor.
Again Thankyou all for your love, support and overwhelming kindness.
This is from her partner Dean
I have been through alot in my life. Debbie has always been there. She is a strong, powerful woman that has stood behind me! I stand strong behind her. With everything that is going on….this absolutely sucks. I never want anyone to go through the struggles. Debbie is a beautiful woman that I love. I thank everyone that has been there for support.
Hi, my name is Bev Chomcey and I am asking for help for our dear friend and coworker, Debbie Leblanc, who on Saturday May 18th 2024, had a major life changing emergency happen to her.
She was at home with her partner Dean, when she lost consciousness and was unresponsive. Dean did CPR and in doing so, they were able to save Debbie. Debbie had a brain aneurysm. She was taken to the Foothills Hospital, where they put 9 coils in her brain and also a "brain drain to help the fluids drain."
She is currently in the ICU because she is still in critical condition.
Although she survived this, she is not out of danger yet. But she can open her eyes and talk for brief periods of time.
We are trying to gather funds for Debbie and her family, as she was the main income earner and since she will not be able to work, she will not be able to pay her living expenses (rent, groceries, utilities). This will also help her family to be able to support her in hospital (parking and food), as she recovers.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated, and no amount is too small.
We would like to thank you in advance for your help and support and prayers.
Thoughts and prayers are appreciated but due to the severity of the situation she can't have visitors at this time. The family will advise us when she is well enough for visitors.
