Debbie is a caring, selfless person and a wonderful mother of 2 beautiful children, she has touched so many people in her life. Debbie's passion and love for hairdressing started as a teenager, she got her license through her High School Cosmetology Program. After High School she traveled to different Universities and went to hair shows/classes around the world to learn the craft of hairdressing from many others in the field. She devoted her life to this industry by helping people feel better about themselves which gave her great joy. She worked in many different salons, after working in others salons she decided to take her career to the next level and open her own salon with her husband Jim. They had an amazing 20 years at Miracles salon and day spa, when she got sick with her second pulmonary embolisms in 2015 they decided it was time to start at new chapter for her and her family . So after she recovered they moved into a new salon in Mount Airy and she fell even more in love behind the chair being about to do her passion.
In March of 2018, her whole life got flipped upside down and she was forced to take a sudden medical leave of absence due to pulmonary difficulties. We all had believed she would only be out for a short period of time. But to all our shock her condition worsened and she still has pulmonary problems along with other illness. Now 8 months later and many doctors and hospital visits, they sent her to Pulmonary Specialists at University of Maryland to give a definitive diagnosis and treatment. Due to not knowing what caused this or what is still causing these problems she's been advised by doctors not to return to work. This has been devastating to her since she unable to do her passion and because she thought she would being doing this for many more years. It has also been difficult for her family since she was the main provider in the house.
A lot of people have been asking us how they could help, and so we thought we would make one central place where people could contribute. Debbie and her family want to thank her clients, family and friends for all the love and support through this rough time.
