Two determined ladies, one mountain, and hundreds of hedgehogs needing help. Support Debbie and Jill as they climb Ben Nevis for Wildflower Hedgehog Rescue.
On 25th/26th June 2026, Debbie and Jill, both aged 60, will be taking on the incredible challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, to raise vital funds for Wildflower Hedgehog Rescue.
Wildflower Hedgehog Rescue has been caring for sick, injured, and orphaned hedgehogs for the past six years. Run entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers, the rescue operates around the clock, 24/7 365 days a year, providing lifesaving care to more than 100 hedgehogs every year.
As hedgehog numbers continue to decline across the UK, rescues like Wildflower Hedgehog Rescue play a crucial role in giving these vulnerable animals a second chance. From emergency treatment and veterinary care to rehabilitation and release back into the wild, every hedgehog receives the attention and support it needs.
The rescue relies solely on donations and the commitment of its volunteers to continue its work. Every pound raised through Debbie and Jill’s Ben Nevis challenge will go directly towards the ongoing care of sick and injured hedgehogs from Nottinghamshire and surrounding counties, helping to cover the costs of food, medication, veterinary treatment, specialist equipment, and rehabilitation facilities.
At 60 years young, Debbie and Jill are stepping well outside their comfort zones and taking on one of the UK’s most iconic climbs to support a cause close to their hearts. They have been training hard and are determined to reach the summit knowing that every step they take will help hedgehogs in need.
Please support Debbie and Jill by donating whatever you can. No amount is too small, and every contribution will help Wildflower Hedgehog Rescue continue their amazing work.
Together, we can help ensure that hundreds more hedgehogs receive the care they need and deserve.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
Good luck Debbie and Jill!
