Debbie Good

Hello my name is Erica Fox. Im raising money to support the Good family in light of the recent diagnosis Mrs. Debbie has received.

Debbie has been a registered nurse practicing for a total of 43 years and If you have been a nurse or healthcare provider at Rapides in the past 26 years chances are you have interacted with her. She is selfless, and one of the most caring individuals I have had the privilege to work with. She has spent countless hours at the bedside providing patients with top-notch nursing care, she could run circles around most of us during a 12hr shift.

Not only is she an exceptional nurse, but she is also a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who has overcome cancer once and is now having to battle it again after months in remission. Since her cancer diagnosis she has had to step away from the bedside however still works full-time at RRMC.

In October 2020, Mrs. Debbie was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, she received 3 months of chemotherapy followed by a mastectomy, followed by 3 months of radiation, after being in remission for 16 months, Debbie began to have symptoms again. After traveling back to MD Anderson and undergoing further workup, she was told that she had 3 different areas of lesions on her liver that were confirmed to be METS, In February, Debbie was diagnosed with stage 4 triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), which is the most aggressive form of breast cancer. Within 2 weeks of this diagnosis, her doctors found 3 lesions on the cerebellum of the brain and also METS to her lymph nodes.

As medical providers we know the severity of this diagnosis, however, in typical Debbie fashion, she has chosen not to focus on the prognosis and instead on fighting for those who love her. The hope for Debbie is to beat this diagnosis, to trust in God’s plan for her life, and spend as much time with her husband, children and grandchildren as she can. We want to help Debbie with that plan and relieve the burden of financial restriction, as she is still trying to work while her body is fighting this aggressive form of cancer.
