Hi, I’m Dawn and I’m starting this Gofundme to help my “sister from another mister” and dearest friend, Debbie Dustin-Elert. Debbie and I have been friends for over four decades and she needs some help after being diagnosed with a very aggressive breast cancer last fall (Sept 2022). Debbie is a healer of sorts always living very green, eating healthy (no meat), runs a dog rescue in Tallahassee, Florida and works as a massage therapist working out other peoples aches, pains & kinks. Inseparable as teenagers, and with our friend Linda, we were known as the three amigos. Now hundreds of miles keep us apart as she lives in Florida where she doesn’t need to deal with snow. But, her mother, extended family and childhood friends are here in Wisconsin as she is struggling through chemotherapy. Funds raised will help cover lost income & mounting bills.

Recently Debbie had heart issues related to her chemotherapy which led to her having her first ever ambulance ride and a two night stay in the hospital. Each chemo treatment has been harder to recover from and Deb hasn’t been able to work that much since this health crisis started. She and her husband, Bill, moved into their new home late last spring after finally deciding that their previous home and the various types of mold were contributing to their health problems and that of their pets.

I am asking that if you can help, to please do. It doesn’t matter the amount as every donation is appreciated and can ease Debbie & Billy’s financial burden. I’m asking that if you’ve ever enjoyed a massage, eaten a veggie sub, rescued an animal, been touched by cancer or witnessed our “who has better looking feet” debate, I ask that you help.
