Hello there friends of Debbie and Joey Buxton!
A bit of background…Debbie has been Joey’s mom since he was 6 years old. He is now 14 years old and is a sweet, happy kid. He has DiGeorge syndrome which means he lives with major developmental and medical challenges. He is thriving and growing at home with Debbie. Joey is a joy to all who have the opportunity to meet him. Debbie has dedicated her life to provide a loving and safe home for Joey.
Unfortunately, we just recently found out that Debbie has been diagnosed with uterine cancer. The treatment plan is in the process of being determined, but will come with major surgery. With this diagnosis, there are many burdens that Debbie cannot shoulder alone. For any parent dealing with the loss of work, time away from home, and medical bills, this diagnosis can be overwhelming; however for Debbie, the challenges are even more so. Joey requires the type of round-the-clock care that can only be provided by trained individuals. Debbie has a few well-skilled and integral people who can be scheduled to help care for Joey during the time of her medical procedures, but they come at a cost. So in addition to the time away from work and medical bills, Debbie is going to need to cover for Joey’s care.
I wanted to start this GoFundMe to create an avenue for Debbie’s family and friends to contribute in a way that could directly bless her and Joey. We might not be able to watch Joey for Debbie while she manages her own health, but we CAN provide the funds to have trained people watch him, and cover the medical costs for her.
I also believe that prayers WORK! If you cannot contribute financially, please take some time to pray for Debbie, Joey, and their current challenges. God is GOOD, and He will provide!
