Debasmita’s story

We, Jharna Datta and Pradip Bhadra, the parents of Debasmita Bhadra reside in Upper Arlington, Ohio, humbly request you to help us to bear our daughter’s long term treatment cost.

Debasmita is our only child, a senior undergraduate student at Otterbein University with psychology major. On her way back home from school on March 22, 2022 around 2:45 pm, (she was about 9 minutes away from her home), while she was taking a turn left into Fishinger Road, she had a head on collision with a SUV. Upper Arlington police admitted her to the Riverside Methodist Hospital in a very critical condition. After admitting her, the police went to our house but we both were at work. The police called us and narrated the incident. We were shocked and rushed to the hospital immediately from work. She is still unconscious and fighting for her life since then. She has severe traumatic brain injury. The prognosis from the doctors who are treating her is, she can take anywhere from a few days to two years to recover from this injury. They cannot say for certain. And even when she regains consciousness, she might have to go through long term rehabilitation. I, Jharna Datta work as a research scientist at Ohio State University and my husband, Pradip works in a restaurant. The hospital bills are piling up (already exceeded three hundred thousand dollars). Debasmita has medical insurance but that is not enough to continue her prolonged treatment. We do not know how long she will be staying in the hospital or rehab.  Desperate times call for desperate measures.
