Hi everyone - I am Nancy Apple and Cordell Jackson was my friend, hero, mentor, confidant, inspiration and was dearly loved by myself and many others from around the world.

She was special. I know it, maybe you did too. 20 years after her death she is being celebrated in ways that she would be so proud of. Imagine my distress when I accompanied a film crew from outside of the USA to her gravesite in Memphis only to realize there was no marker at all.

A woman of her stature should not be forgotten, but celebrated. I have talked to the cemetery and have gotten approvals, and now I am coming to you to ask that you give a little bit if you can to help me honor Cordell Jackson with the respect and dignity she deserves.

She was a trailblazer. A pioneer. An innovator. A woman who will forever live in history. A woman who deserves a grave marker.

I am putting this together quickly, to start raising funds and get the ball rolling in her favor. I will post much more information about Cordell as I can gather it, and if you need references on me I can get that too.

Please help. The soon I can raise enough funds to order the memorial, we can place the order. I am working on the graphics for it and will post as soon as they are done. At that point, I should be able to get a confirmed price.

FYI, I was quoted $27,000 from the cemetery but received permissions to contract a memorial maker directly to save money. I have been given a $10-20,000 figure based on design. I am asking for the higher amount, because she has been forgotten about for too long.
