Dear family and friends of Deb,
My name is Mel, and I have the privilege of calling Deb one of my dear friends. Deb and I met sixteen years ago when we worked together at a local charter school. This last year, as I fought breast cancer, she was a key member of my support team, and I am forever grateful. Right now, Deb could use a little help from her community, so I asked her if I could create this fundraiser on her behalf.
For those of you that know Deb, you know she's one of the most selfless people you know. She loves her kids more than anything in the world, and she is the friend that would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She's also extremely modest and has difficulty putting her needs before others and asking for help.
Deb needs a little help to keep her moving forward. This year has brought her and her family a series of immense challenges. In addition, she needs to have surgery on her knee for a torn meniscus. She will have surgery on May 3. While she has insurance, it will not cover all of the expenses, and other life events have put her family under financial stress.
If you are able to help by giving at all, I know Deb will be forever grateful. We are trying to raise at least $2,000 to help Deb with some of her medical expenses and decrease some of the burden of surgery. This will help Deb be able to focus on healing, so she can keep being the amazing mom she is to her kids.
