DEB IS CHOOSING HOPE OVER FEAR
Donation protected
Much gratitude is given to you for reading my story. As an Occupational Therapist, I have dedicated my life's work to providing my patients with the best therapy they needed, and I could provide. My name is Deb and now I am the patient in need. The funds that I hope to receive will be used for my medical expenses.
Two days after Christmas of 2022 my life changed dramatically with severe left arm pain that sent me to the Emergency Room. I agonized for 5 hours before seeing the doctor. I needed pain relief and I needed answers to my pain. Three hours later I was discharged with prescription medication but without answers to my pain. Following an excruciating 24 hours, I returned to the same Emergency Room still seeking pain relief and answers for my pain. This visit I agonized for 9 hours to be seen by a doctor. Four hours later I experienced diminished pain and was discharged with the diagnosis of cervical radiculopathy.
A month's worth of conservative treatment approaches proved to provide minimal results. Without the benefit of short term disability I incurred a month of lost wages, rising medical bills, and increased household debt. The disabling condition of my health began to wear on me physically, emotionally, and financially.
During a follow-up appointment with my Orthopedist I was referred to a Neurosurgeon and given a letter stating that I was unable to return to work until I met with the Neurosurgeon. On my car ride home I realized that I needed help from the community to address my mounting debt.
Through researching I learned that there is no weakness in asking for help. I put my pride aside and looked to my faith for the strength to be honest and vulnerable with others. I am asking for any donations on behalf of myself and my husband to ease our financial burden and to lift our spirits. Your generosity is truly treasured.
Gratefully yours,
Deb
