Deb Cini

On May 2 Deb Cini was admitted to MGH with COVID 19. Within 24 hours she was intubated and put on a ventilator. Within days of that happening her husband Chris and her son Gunnar tested positive as well. Luckily they have remained symptom free. Deb has had many complications arise since that first day including but not limited to being placed on ECMO, uncontrolled bleeding, clots and infections.. This whole situation thus far and the uncertainty of what the future holds has placed a significant financial burden on the family. This has been a very challenging time for this family. Chris has had to be father, mother and teacher to Gunnar. While health insurance is covering the majority of Deb’s medical care, incidental expenses are accruing. Chris has been on work quarantine since debs admittance and it Is unclear as to when he may be a able to work again. Once Deb gets out of the ICU (we are determined that she WILL recover) she will have a very long hard road ahead of her. ECMO patients alone typically require months and months of rehab in addition to the other COVID related healing needed. The last thing this family needs on top of everything else is piles and piles of bills. They have so much on their plates already and so we ask, on their behalf, for any kindness you can spare. We wish to lessen their burden just a bit.
