The Deary Jump Fund

Pony Clubbers have been riding at the Hatley Ranch since 1967 when George and Iola Hatley opened it to the local pony club to be used to help educate English riders based up on the standards set out by the United States Pony Club.  Their generosity and that of their son Craig, one of the first pony clubbers, provides us an incredible opportunity each summer.  Betty Tukey, an enthusiastic and dynamite horse women herself,  started inviting campers from all around the NW and beyond to come to Deary each summer to experience the Magic of Deary where tireless volunteers run clinics, a horse trial, a D and C pony club camp for kids and an adult camp.

Circumnavigating the front 90 acres of the Hatley Ranch is a x-country course that is used each year for schooling and for the local Hopeful Event run by Paradise Creek Pony Club.  This x-country course consists natural fences of many levels from Nervous Novice, Beginning Novice, Novice and Training.  This fundraiser is to help raise funds to help give this course a much needed ‘face lift’.  We need to raise $20,000 to build, improve and maintain the x-country course.  Money would go to buy building supplies, labor to build the jumps and yearly maintenance of these jumps.

The building of these jumps will be done by the Craig Hatley work crew.  During the summer month, they are loggers, but during the winter months, their work load is much reduced.  Craig and his crew has generously offered to help build out new jumps as long as there are provided some designs and of course money.

Any and all contributions are welcomed and we are grateful for everyone’s help. All contributors will be displayed on a sign at the beginning of x-country at the Hopeful Event each year for all to see who helped fund the new course.  If you make a donation of $40-$249  you will be receive a  Deary t-shirt.   If you make a donation of $250-$499 your name will be placed on a plaque on a  x-country jump. If you make a dontation of $500 - $1000 or more  a jump will be named for you  you.  The money goes to Paradise Creek Pony Club, a 502-3c non-profit organization, who runs the Hopeful event along with all the hard working volunteers who come every year to help keep this event going.

The Magic of Deary has affected hundreds of people for the past 47 years.  We have had riders join us from all across the US as far as the east coast, down to California and even across the oceans from places like England, France and Israel.  Help us continue this tradition with a donation to the Deary Jump Fund.
