Sweet Magdalena - widow with 3 young children

Hello, my name is Michelle Olson. I have a friend, Magdalena Buchalow, in desperate need as her husband Mariusz, with no life insurance, died suddenly 2 weeks before Christmas. She and her 3 children (ages 8, 6, and 3) live in a modest home in Allentown, PA. Magdalena is a stay-at-home mom who home schools her children. She spends time at her sewing machine during their naps and late into the night to feed her creativity.  “Sewing is like breathing” says Magdalena.  Her husband worked the night shift at Accupac for 33 years.  Mariusz flew to Poland from America for his cousins wedding in a small Polish village and it was "love at first site" with Magdalena.  She followed him back to the US and they married roughly 9 years ago. Before having children, she studied fashion design and was a former fashion designer at a boutique seaside hotel in Germany. 

On December 11th, Magdalena walked down her stairs to check in on her sick husband and tragically discovered Mariusz dead. I can't imagine such a dreadful Christmas calamity. She awakened her children that morning so they could say their final goodbyes to their dad. Unfortunately, so many lives have experienced sadness like this story, so why am I telling it to raise money for this family?

 

Magdalena is a sweet spirit who loves her children and is so serving and helpful to me in the ways we have worked together. I can only imagine that she touches other lives with her sweetness in the same way. What makes her story one of despair is that her husband did not have life insurance, and now she has the extra burden of paying for her home mortgage without her husband's income. My desire is that the community of those who read this will come together to be a shining light and pay off her home mortgage making the next chapter of her life a little easier to live.
