Dear loving community

Hi, my name is Danny. I am an involved father to my 11 year old daughter and a disabled veteran. I am enrolled in individual and group therepy at the mid-Peninsula Vet Center. I volunteer Monday-Friday doing outreach for Streetlife Ministries in hopes of getting our un-housed community off the streets. I am the site captain on Tuesday nights at the Menlo Park train station providing hot meals to our un-housed. The reason I am reaching out is because my daughter and I are displaced from of our home 12 nights out of the month until at least the middle of February. Once my partner goes back to family court in mid February, we will most likely have to be gone from our home for approximately 12 to 15 days out of each month for the next several months (I’m assuming blending will be a slow process). My partner and I lived at the Haven house family shelter for Veterans www.lifemoves.org ( that's us on the website picture ) and we were housed last year in Redwood City. My partner has nearly gotten back 50% custody of her two sons. The five of us lived together for several years while the kids were young. The court has not yet recognized that my partner and I are on the same lease and has not yet started the process of blending our family. We are very hopeful that the blending process will begin in mid to late February after the family court date. As it stands since May of 2021, when the boys come to stay the night at our house, myself and my daughter have to leave the home. Come the beginning of January we will not be able to afford staying in hotels while paying our rent, bills , and limited scope attorney fees. If you or anyone you know has an affordable room for myself and my daughter 12 days out of the month or can help with funding we would be so grateful for we are a weeks away from having no where to go. I calculated $1200 for the next 10 months in hopes that the process of blending of our family starts in February. Special thanks to Valerie Frederickson for encouraging this process to get started.
