I’m setting this up on behalf of my friend Alanna, who is not the kind of person who feels comfortable asking for herself. She has been pouring her heart and soul into building a farm and carriage business that connects the community with animals in a meaningful way. Right now, she’s facing a rough patch: both of her trucks are in the shop, bills have piled up, and she can’t get her horses to the jobs she depends on. On top of that, she and her farm partner Fran recently experienced a heartbreaking loss of a beloved horse on the farm. She does have work lined up later this month, but she needs help to get through right now. Any support will help her keep going, care for her animals, and continue working toward moving to a more sustainable place with lower overhead.

“Hi everyone, I’m Alanna. Over the last few years, I’ve been devoting my life to build Celtic Valley Carriage & Farm — a business that brings people together with horses, donkeys, goats, art, and more. My mission has always been to create experiences that connect the community with animals in ways that are joyful, grounding, and meaningful. Most of my animals are rescues and they all are beloved family members to me.

This year started out hopeful. We tripled our business since last year, but late summer and early fall, business slowed down rapidly. September has been especially difficult — I do have some jobs coming in later this month, but with both of my trucks in the shop right now, I can’t even get my horses to the work I depend on. I can’t afford to get my truck out of the shop, and the other one has a very ominous prognosis. It’s discouraging when so many things happen at once.

On top of this, my farm partner Fran is also facing housing struggles, and together we’ve been carrying the weight of the recent loss of her beloved mustang Benny on the farm, and we have struggled to adapt to massive void he has left both in our hearts and for the business. It’s been a heavy time, but we’re doing everything we can to keep this dream alive. So many people have helped and encouraged me along the way, I can’t let this setback be the end of everything I worked for.

I’m reaching out because I need help to bridge this difficult month. Support will go directly toward bills, truck repairs, and keeping the farm stable so we can continue moving toward our goal of relocating to a place with lower overhead, where our work with the community can truly thrive and grow.
