Dear friend & First Responder in need of help

Donation protected
For those who are unaware, a dear friend, Tom Zub, was diagnosed last year with Squamous Cell Carcinoma- a cancer that attacks the tongue, the lining of the digestive and respiratory tracts, and the lining of the mouth, throat, thyroid, and larynx. After completing radiation and multiple other avenues of treatment, Tom recently received news that this despicable disease returned with a vengeance in Stage 3. We are asking for all of our prayer warriors, first responder brothers and sisters, and friends and family to come together to  help a dear friend fight this monstrous diagnosis.

To know Tom is to love him. For all of his life, Tom has selflessly volunteered countless hours of his time to many different agencies including, but not limited to, Clark Emergency First Aid Squad as Captain, Garwood Fire Department as a Fireman, and Cranford Fire Department as a Call-man. Furthermore, he has been employed as an EMT for the City of Rahway First Aid Squad and also the County of Union as a Hazardous Materials Responder/EMT Lieutenant. During his early career at the county, Tom has held multiple positions for his Union, Local 99, including delegate, treasurer, and most prestigious- President. He has always held such value in putting others first and making sure he did everything he could to lift people up and make sure they are supported through and through.

In his spare time, one of the things Tom has enjoyed for many years is being a member of Union County’s chapter of “The 4th Watch” motorcycle club. There, he has taken great pride in participating in the Valor Ride every July and raising funds for veterans and others in need.

Just recently, Tom married the love of his life, Stephanie. Additionally, Tom he  is surrounded by an unshakable family who is centered around his parents, Rosemarie and Bud, brother and his girlfriend, Andrew and Samantha, and many other extended family members and friends who he loves with deep intensity. At his core, family is held the closest and is the center of his world.

Right now, Tom and the Zub Family are in urgent need and extreme crisis as they prepare for an intense battle and face many hurdles due to the costs of care and treatment. Unfortunately, Tom had to exhaust all of his paid time off through his first round of care. Now, they are unfairly left facing extreme hardship financially while they worry about Tom’s  daily needs and simply getting through the stress of cancer and the tragic effects it has had on Tom and his family. Tom is currently under the medical care of many and undergoing chemotherapy as one of the many aggressive avenues of treatment. At this time, his medical team is hoping his treatment will shrink the tumor near his voice box enough so they can remove it without damaging the voice box or having to completely remove it.

We are asking those who are generously looking to offer a helping hand to do so through donation and prayer. It is our hope that this fundraiser will help defer some of the growing costs piling up and relieve some of the financial stress and pressure the Zub Family is facing. This would include
extremely high medical expenses, household expenses and the expenses of day-to-day living.  With your help these costs they are enduring on top of Tom’s health will be lessened and they will be able to concentrate more on Tom’s healing.

Thank you for taking the time to read our request and hopefully, you will be able to help with supporting Tom in fighting this dreadful tumor. If you are unable to donate, we are requesting that you keep Tom in
your prayers and lift him up during this challenging time.
