Hello Family & Friends,
My name is Sean, and I am writing this for my wife. We have been together for 16 years and married for 13. We have 2 amazing daughters (Alexa 28 & Daveney 11) and added a new furball to the family tree, Louie
My wife back in July noticed a lump on her left breast and decided to get it checked out. After a few visits to the doctors, she was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Since then, it’s been one doctor visit, imaging, tests & biopsies after another. Besides being painful it can be stressful. While dealing with this and getting ready for treatments, she discovered that she now has hypertension to manage.
My wife may or may not be able to continue working, as she needs to keep her blood pressure down and stay physically and emotionally ready to manage 10 rounds of chemo within the next 5-6 months. 4-6 weeks post chemo she will need surgery either a lumpectomy or mastectomy pending results of chemo. After surgery recovery, she will then undergo radiation every day for 5-6 weeks. Cry is currently taking a short term leave but if she is unable to continue to work that will put us in a pickle.
We have no idea what is ahead and as my wife says, "Hospital bills are like playing Russian Roulette with your wallet." According to WebMD, stages I and II tumors range $60 - $97K. If you are lead to contribute anything or share this that would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if you want to get the full story Crystallyn has created a blog that you can follow and be right there next to her during this journey. https://crystallyn.fyi
It will be a year long fight, but with the support and love from family and friends it won’t be a lonely one.
Thank You
Herzfeld Family
