Dean's Road to Recovery

My daughter, her partner and their 2 young babies set out on their first family holiday to Spain on the 21st May along with her nana the children's great grandmother. The first 3 days were amazing, they did lots of lovely things together, spent time on the beach, all the general things people do on holiday.
on the evening of the 24th may my daughter's partner Dean decided to nip across the road to the shop facing for juice and Biscuits for the 2 children, Dean was gone less than 5 minutes when Emily and the rest of the hotel heard an almighty bang, Emily went out onto the veranda she could see a lot of commotion outside and could see someone on the floor but couldn't see who but her gut instinct told her it was dean next thing she knew the telephone in the room rang it was reception saying please can you come down
Dean was crossing the zebra crossing when he was hit by a car which threw him in the air then a second car drove over him, the emergency services arrived very quickly and gave dean 100% best care possible WE CANT THANK THEM ENOUGH
however while dean was being tended to someone decided to steal his money from his wallet along with his trainers dean was air lifted to girona hospital Emily followed in a taxi with one of the children the other one stayed with her nan
Dean was operated on for several hours while Emily and Ava sat in a waiting room alone waiting to find out his feight
The doctors told Emily that dean is lucky to be alive with the injurys he had sustained
26 different injurys heres a few
Cuts to his face
Broken Nose
Lost bottom teeth
12 fractures left side of chest
1 Fracture to right side of chest
Broken right elbow
Broken fingers
Kidney damage
Several breaks to pelvis
Broken femur
2 broken legs
Hes also on a ventilator and in a induced coma
so as you can imagine my daughter and grandchildrens world has been turned upside down one thing we are greatfull for is they had medical insurance but that doesn't help with all the costs
On Wednesday 29th of may Emily had to leave Spain with the family and leave dean behind this is something she's not coping well with but knows he couldn't be in safer hands but the language barrier is a massive problem being kept updated isn't easy every phone call costs and were having to communicate several times a day
they operated on dean again yesterday 31st may surgery took over 6 hours but the surgery went really well Emily is now desperate to see dean as soon as possible were are very proud family and dont like asking for anything but so many lovely people have told us to do this as they want to make life easier for Emily and the children till dean can come home even then he"ll be in hospital for a very long time as hes going to have to learn to walk again it's a long road ahead
