Dean's Cancer Battle

Hi, My name is Betty Valdez, and I am Fundraising for my grandson Dean's cancer battle. Dean is 13 years old, and his fight has just begun. In July, he had surgery to remove some of the lymphomas on his neck and in the process. he had the left side of his thyroid removed. They did a Petscan afterward, and that's when we found out there were also lymphomas in his stomach {which explains the loss of appetite}. So he will be going through chemo for the next six months. As some of you may know, his little sister Lilly Mae {6} is Autistic and non-verbal, and Victoria cannot work outside the home, leaving Daniel as the only source of income. As you can imagine, this has put a strain on their finances. Dean is an 8th grader in the Homebound Schooling Program at YISD. He would have attended Ysleta Middle School this year. He enjoys robotics and music {keybboard}loves everything about motorcycles, and aspires to be a Biker like his Papaw someday. This week, he had to cut his beautiful long hair; it was heartbreaking. I know he faces a long and grueling challenge in the coming months; the rest of our family and I would give anything to take some of this upon ourselves. Unfortunately, all we can do is stand by him and show him how much we love and care for him. These are challenging times for everyone; you never know when something like this can happen to you; when it does, it is soul-crushing.
