Deanna was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuro-Endocrine cancer. In addition to a fundraiser at Brickyard Brewing Company in April, we are also accepting monetary donations to help Deanna, and her husband Will, get through this very difficult time.

Deanna's Story:

A few days before Halloween, Deanna woke up with a large lump in her breast. Her husband Will, pushed her to call the doctor. An ultrasound led to a mammogram, and the mammogram led to a biopsy. On 11/16 she received the devastating news, “You have Breast Cancer.” The next day, they informed her they made a mistake, it's not breast cancer. The immediate relief was soon shattered with the follow-up sentence. She was actually diagnosed with "Stage 4 Neuro endocrine carcinoma small cell of breast origin." This specific type of cancer is aggressive, extremely rare, and even rarer in the breast, a "zebra" cancer. Deanna went through weeks of tests and scans to determine the best treatment. She began rounds of chemotherapy and infusions in December.

Since her diagnosis, Deanna and her husband, Will Cody, have had to take time off of work to get to doctors’ appointments and rounds of chemotherapy. On top of the rising cost of living and child care, they now have medical expenses to worry about. We are hoping to eliminate the financial burden of treatment so Deanna can focus on recovering and spending time with her family, especially her daughter Penelope, who will turn 1 in February.
