Dean's To-Do List; Beat Cancer

Donation protected
We are so humbled and grateful for the outpouring of love and kind words that so many friends and family have shown as Dean continues to make daily progress against Leukemia.

It is very hard to find the right words for this page, but we are hoping that through this account and any donations made to Pathway Bank in Ord we can help offset the out of pocket costs for lodging and medical care.  Because the lodging fees are due upfront, we are hoping to raise enough money to take this burden off Dean and Rose and allow them to focus on getting stronger and ready to come home!!

Dean has transitioned to out-patient monitoring which is a huge step, but he will need to remain in Omaha for at least 100 days from the date of  transplant.  At this point they are still recommending relative isolation  from germs/etc, so Dean's winter hibernation continues.

We're trying to be creative and resourceful to help make ends meet.  There are a lot of zeros that go along with such an extensive medical procedure and so many nights away from home, but we know there are many more prayers being said that it works!!!  We all know that Dean can't sit still, and he is so ready to get back to work and volunteering and being a grandpa!!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything!!!

(Dean's intial symptoms started in  July of 2015 which led them to the diagnosis of leukemia.  He underwent monthly rounds of chemo.  Although his body wasn't responding, this allowed them to expedite the process for a stem cell transplant.  Dean's brother Ron was a match and the specialists at UNMC completed a stem cell transplant January 19- one heck of a 60th birthday present!  Due to the complexities of a stem cell transplant, Dean will have check ups a couple times per week, and may still need to receive blood transfusions.  He requires 24 hour monitoring to watch for any signs of complications, and thus needs to stay close to UNMC.)

Dean has been out of work since July which is a really hard hit to take.  Any donation (online through GoFundMe or at the Ord Pathway Bank) is greatly appreciated!!
