DeAndre Stephens Homegoing

My name is Vermell Stephens, “Granny” to the beloved DeAndre Stephens. I have spent my life dedicated to loving and laughing with “Bud” on his journey. On behalf of the family, we are asking for your assistance in giving him a proper burial as his earthly journey has come to an end. 3/5/23

To know DeAndre was to love him. He was a strong force in the community as the founder and brain behind the Power Runners Youth Track & Field nonprofit. “Coach D” took carloads of children to multiple cities and states to compete and explore. He would ensure that no child was left behind and often sacrificed to buy school supplies, clothes, and meals for their families.

He was known for his cooking, uniting friends, and making sure everyone laughed until they cried. He dedicated years of service around Tallahassee from doctors’ offices, Steak & Shake, and for decades Sonny’s BBQ. Everyone he encountered felt his infectious presence and always came back for more.

Now, it is up to us to make sure that one of God’s most precious angels has the proper send-off. We thank you in advance for all that you can do.
