Hello everyone,
I thought I would update you all on everything that has changed today.
Before I left Iowa to come home to my family, I had met with a neurosurgeon, and other doctors. The neurosurgeon told us that Dean had a .5% chance of coming out of this. He even used the word vegetable to describe Dean's state. I came home and started this up thinking I would have to bury my brother.
A miraculous thing happened, and I don't use that word lightly, as there is no other way I could possibly explain today.
They took out Dean's breathing tube, and he was breathing on his own, and now he is starting to respond. We don't know exactly what this recovery will ensue. We just know that we don't have to bury him.
I can't thank you enough for your generosity and your prayers. Keep the prayers coming.
I am changing part of what the money is going for. Dean will have medical expenses instead of a funeral! Praise God!!!

Hi everyone,
My name is David DeMoss, brother of Dean Allen DeMoss, Age 42. Last Friday 10/29/2016, my brother was in a very critical car accident (as a passenger) leaving him in a coma. The neurosurgeon stated that he is in a vegetative state and has less than .5% chance of any sign of responding. Even at which point he would develop infections such as pneumonia that would distract his body from healing his stretched and sheared Axon Cords (Diffuse Axonal Injury). His brain continues to swell causing more brain bleeding as well. We are looking at 3 to 5 days left of his life and with no response from him is hard to say goodbye!
We are attempting to raise money for his impending funeral for which there is no insurance coverage. My parents, who live locally in Iowa, have no means of covering that cost. I would also like to provide help to my mother who is traveling back and forth and living on next to nothing and currently no job so as to care for my brother. My dad is also incurring expenses from dean's affairs to include legal procedures. This fund will also be used to help his children (ages 10 and 13) with their basic needs as they go through this life-altering hardship.
It would greatly be appreciated if funds are received immediately but we understand that everyone has their own lives to live and many things those going on as well. But just a dollar or two would go a long way and greatly appreciated.
During these hard times, there is one thing no one ever wants to deal with is the monetary aspect of such a traumatic life altering episode.
Again anything would greatly be appreciated and know that it is going to help my brother and all of his family and I hope this leaves you with a warm feeling of your generosity.
Thank you!
