Dean Lampe for medical and living expenses

Can I ask a HUGE favor?

We are asking for prayers and some assistance for my husband Dean Lampe.

As some of you know he has been battling some health issues and over the last couple of years different symptoms arised. Unfortunately, his symptoms have exacerbated in Jan/Feb during the colder weather. Those that know Dean, know he loves and tolerates colder weather. So this was concerning. He has had several falls, increased weakness, pain and unstable gait. They originally dx him With a rare condition called SPS (Stiff Person Syndrome).

He underwent a muscle & nerve biopsy late June. Results from the Mayo Clinic has resulted in an extremely rare muscle disorder: DMRV (Distal Myopathy with Rimmed Vacuoles and Minimal Inflammatory Reaction. Second dx of Denervation Atrophy.

With these results he no longer has the SPS dx.

Unfortunately, his Neurologist at St. John’s has informed us they can not treat him as they do not have the capabilities or knowledge and he is in need of higher level of care. They have sent an urgent referral as he is rapidly declining. We are still waiting for a referral to be accepted as we have been denied the first preferred referral from our Neurologist.

For those that know Dean, he was active and an outdoorsmen, unfortunately he can no longer perform these activities. He is now losing his strength in his hands.

He is almost to the point of being wheelchair bound.

Prayer requests for us to be sent to a Doctor who is knowledgeable and agreeable to take him on and help manage his disease. - Give us guidance on life, - Strength physically and emotionally as this has been life altering for all of us, - Pain relief as it is debilitating, -Financially as we have been on 1 income for almost 2 years and awaiting trial for disability, -good/used equipment for home to help him try to be independent- we need to make adjustments to our home
